The eGaming sector is a fast paced, exciting place that I have found myself involved in from 2004. I now count myself as an industry veteran having worked across the industry in roles within the software development side as well as being very involved within that operational coalface and understanding how the intricate pieces all fit together. I pride myself in having a professional and enthusiastic approach in my dealings with both clients and colleagues.The beauty of this space is that it is ever changing and challenging, and one is always learning about something new. That is what makes eGaming the competitive space it is today.

I am based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. A strong hub for game development and boutique game suppliers, covering all industry sectors, and lately that has included social gaming companies, where we see crossover between land based groups, online operators and social casinos. Getting the formulae right is key for success in a very competitive space.

The North American space is a lucrative one, where many are jostling for position. In Canada you have the lottery corporations on the regulated side that are moving into online, with their online offerings. A fast learning curve is essential when competing with well established groups already in that space for 10-15 years. Getting experienced eGaming people and gaining strong exposure with the view that to grow in this space, you have to work with those already experienced operators and software companies so as the benefits flow not only through to the government, corporations and operators, but that the customers and players benefit from licenced, regulated, competitive options and are always allowed the choice. It makes everyone stronger.

The US is gaining strong momentum and certain states are already well down the line (Nevada, New Jersey and Delaware) with their forward momentum within the eGaming online space. Realising that land based groups within the US need to be building online and will benefit from customer crossover and growth. Social Casino Gaming has become a very big factor in exposing customers to online games that cross back into land based properties. This allows the customer to become familiar and comfortable with online, and at the same time it can be free play, and within the legal boundaries. It is however growing the business for real money options when the time arises, as we see in the three states mentioned that are on the cusp of bringing this to life in the US.

My experience crosses many of the areas within eGaming, from having had the responsibility of looking after the overall commercial and financial relationships of a number of Microgaming's Casino and Poker Operators, building and developing casino games, and being responsible for the casino roadmap and strategy as the casino stakeholder with Sportingbet Plc Americas Region, and then as a consultant for the last 4 years with my own consulting company, Ludus Consulting, building intricate business plans and strategies for startups and groups looking to maneuver into the online and eGaming space. This includes all facets of setup, software, affiliate and social crossover, marketing options, as well as budget and forecast, and the view on costs to gain a foothold within this space.
